How To Increase Your Sillage

Sillage, for those not familiar, is the cloud or trail the scent you are wearing creates as you move through your day. The larger the sillage, the greater the distance from you people will smell what you are wearing. This can also be referred to as the volume or loudness of the scent. Some scents have a naturally large sillage, and some are created to be skin scents. 

To increase the sillage of your scent, apply your perfume by holding the atomizer 15 - 20 inches away from your skin so that the scent can be sprayed over as wide an area as possible on your skin and clothing. If you hold the atomizer too close to your skin, the area covered by the fragrance will be smaller and the sillage of the fragrance will be much smaller. 

This life hack can be used to increase the sillage of your fragrances. But always remember that fragrances designed to be skin scents will never project like louder scents, no matter what you do.
